About Dr. Michael Gale

I am a Licensed Psychologist in Connecticut who specializes in life transitions, identity, issues in adjustment, mood, and anxiety. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany in 2017.

I specialize in providing evidence-based, individualized treatment that integrates cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and multicultural approaches within a developmental context. Therapy with me focuses on building new skills and using your unique strengths to overcome personal challenges and promote growth.

While I currently work primarily with adolescents and their families, I have provided psychotherapy since 2011 with adolescents and adults across the lifespan in multiple settings including college counseling, community mental health, and Veterans Affairs medical centers.

During the schoolyear (September-May), I primarily offer therapeutic support to students and their families at Westminster School and have limited capacity to provide additional therapeutic services. During the summer (June-August), I typically have more openings for new clients, especially those interested in short-term therapeutic work.

Schedule an Initial Consultation Today!

You are likely to benefit most from therapy when you experience a strong sense of trust, understanding, and collaboration with your therapist. This type of relationship provides a safe and supportive space to open up, explore thoughts and feelings, and work towards your goals. Research shows that a strong therapeutic alliance is associated with better outcomes, increased engagement, and client satisfaction.

Because the therapeutic relationship is crucial, it is important for us both to evaluate if we would be a good fit to work together in therapy. I offer a no cost consultation for us to discuss your needs, for you to get a sense of me as a therapist, and discuss what might be most helpful for you.
